The First Nations Heritage Protection Alliance is working to strengthen and modernise cultural heritage laws and create industry reforms to ensure First Nations Cultural Heritage is valued and protected.
The FNHPA is a coalition of organisations representing First Nations Peoples from across Australia including major Native Title, Land Rights, Traditional Owner and community controlled groups. It was formed in 2020 after the destruction of the 46,000-year-old Juukan Caves by Rio Tinto, an event which brought international attention to the damage, displacement or disturbance of First Nations Cultural Heritage.
