ANTAR is a trusted First Nations ally and national advocacy organisation. We provide Australians with quality information on priorities concerning First Nations rights and justice issues by producing independent research and analysis, lobbying and public campaigning.
We represent a committed and active movement of Australians who have been working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, organisations and leaders on the critical issues facing communities since 1997.
ANTAR actively supports the right of Australia’s First Nations people to self-determination. We therefore always work to amplify the voices of, and take our lead from, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We work closely with partners on issues such as establishing First Nations Voice in the Constitution, Treaty-making and Truth-telling, health equality, justice and incarceration issues, the protection of ancient cultural heritage, native title and land rights as well as ending racism. While our research and campaign focus constantly evolves as guided by First Nations people, it is always organised and accessible here on our website.
We support, strengthen and amplify the voices of First Nations-led organisations and Campaigns like no other national advocacy organisation for over a quarter of a century.
For 25 years we’ve put a spotlight on First Nations priorities for recognition, self-determination and treaty-making, cultural heritage protection, native title and land rights; but also health issues that First Nations communities face as they endure effects of trauma from past or entrenched injustices and dispossession.

In 2021, trailblazer ANTAR supporters the Late Mr Hans Boesewinkel and the Late Mr Peter Taylor left a significant bequest to ANTAR in their collective Wills.
