ANTAR believes that Treaty can change the way we see ourselves, each other, and provide the footings for a better, more just Australia, grounded in Truth.
We are campaigning in support of state-based and national Treaty and agreement-making processes, in line with the calls from First Nations Peoples in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
ANTAR believes we owe it to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander brothers and sisters to heed the calls made in the Uluru Statement – for a First Nations Voice enshrined in the constitution, and for a Makarrata Commission to oversee agreement making and truth-telling about Australia’s shared history.
We work to provide more opportunity for discussion and engagement about treaties support and progress the Treaty and agreement-making process in Australia.
We produce the online series of Treaty Talks events to build awareness about Treaty, including its history, where we are at today, and what the future could be if treaties with First Nations Peoples in Australia are realised.
