Treaty Pledge to support truth, treaty and voice

Pledge to support truth, treaty and voice

Take Action

Despite our nation’s failure to say YES to recognition and voice on 14 October 2023, the movement for a better future called for in the Uluṟu Statement from the Heart, is just getting started.

The Voice to Parliament was one way of achieving self-determination. It wasn’t the only way and our fight for justice continues – towards self-determination, with respect for First Nations sovereignty, and through truth, treaty and voice. We cannot afford to give up now – make the pledge today.

The
Pledge

I commit to helping maintain and build the momentum for First Nations voices, treaties and truth-telling about our shared history. I continue to support the principles of the Uluru Statement from the Heart. I join ANTAR in calling on governments to step up and take responsibility for Australia’s inevitable process of voice, truth-telling and treaty-making, centuries after it should have happened. As the only remaining Western colonising nation to have failed to negotiate a treaty with the First Nations of the land, Australia is exceptional for the wrong reason.
