ANTaR today called on government to show how the budget measures in Indigenous affairs will close the gap in Indigenous disadvantage.
“Government needs to explain how the changes will meet their committments to closing the gap and how they will engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their representatives on the overhall to Indigenous Affairs.”

ANTaR responds to the Attorney General's Freedom of Speech Exposure Draft
ANTaR has submitted its response to the "Freedom of Speech (repeal of s.18C) Bill 2014" Exposure Draft realeased by Attorney General George Brandis on March 25 2014.
The Exposure Draft proposes to alter the Racial Discrimination Act (1975) by removing the prohibitions on hate speech contained in section 18C.
