Be a part of National Reconciliation Week 2016"The design for this years Sea of Hands display was created by Brenda L Croft, a Gurindji/Malngin/Mudpurra artist and researcher. The design is inspired by historical portraits depicting Eora men, including Bennelong, one of Barangaroo's husbands, in customary ochre body markings.
National voice for First Peoples must be funded by government
National advocacy organisation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rights, ANTaR, today expressed dismay that the Indigenous Affairs Minister is refusing to fund National Congress of Australia’s First Peoples after the Election.
ANTaR’s iconic ‘Sea of Hands’ coming to Barangaroo for National Reconciliation Week
Today we announced that ANTaR would bring its interactive symbol of reconciliation, the Sea of Hands, to Barangaroo Reserve for National Reconciliation Week 2016 in partnership with the Barangaroo Delivery Authority.
The Sea of Hands event begins with a free Opening Night Concert on Friday, 27 May (5:00pm - 8:30pm) featuring live performances by Christine Anu and Casey Donovan on Barangaroo Reserve’s Walumil Lawns, where the first part of the installation will be illuminated.

ANTaR joins call for WA Government to stop locking up vulnerable people for unpaid fines
ANTaR joins over twenty Indigenous and human rights organisations have signed an open letter released today calling on Western Australian Premier Colin Barnett to stop locking up vulnerable people for unpaid fines. The open letter comes in the wake of the ongoing inquest into the tragic death of Ms Dhu, a 22-year old Aboriginal woman who died in police custody after being imprisoned for unpaid fines.
