Where are we up to now?

Last edited: October 6, 2022

The movement for Treaty in Australia is rapidly gaining momentum, with some States taking solid steps forward towards regional treaties. Find out how you can get involved today.

The Treaty movement is quickly growing as more and more Australians find out about the Uluru Statement from the Heart and what First Nations People ask of us in the landmark declaration – Voice, Treaty, Truth!

The governments of Victoria, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland are already off the mark and at various stages of engagement with First Nations Peoples on treaty and agreement-making processes. We must work together to build on this momentum.

At ANTAR, we’re ‘all about Treaty’, and have produced a series of Treaty Talks as well as educational resources as a means of raising awareness about Treaty.

Learn more about Treaty and what’s happening in your backyard – read our Treaty Factsheets, and catch up on all our past Treaty Talks here.

Help us build an active movement for Treaty!
