With 370 million Indigenous peoples globally, ensuring their rights are protected and their needs are heard is vital for the preservation of Indigenous cultures – including languages, beliefs, practices and more. First Nations Peoples in Australia are entitled to the full realisation of their rights as articulated in relevant human rights treaties, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and specifically the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).

Survival Day

26 January is not the date to celebrate. It’s a day for respecting the survival of First Nations Peoples in the face of systematic ongoing injustice. We need a national day that brings all Australians together, rather than divides us.
