2025
FEDERAL
ELECTION

In the lead up to the 2025 Federal Election on 3 May, ANTAR is providing analysis for our network of supporters as well as the broader Australian public on the priorities of First Nations communities and the policy platforms of the parties and candidates seeking election. You’ll find all our election related resources and ways to take action, get involved, learn more and support us here on this page.

TAKE ACTION

  • Contact your local candidates – use ANTAR’s letter template to write to candidates standing for election in your Federal electorate (not sure which Federal electorate you’re in? Find out here). You can view all the candidates running by electorate here.

GET INVOLVED

EXPLORE MORE

We wrote to the ALP, the LNP Coalition, and the Australian Greens seeking their policy commitments ahead of the election on 3 May. We received responses from all three parties and have published them in full as well as cross-referenced the responses with their publicly available policy platforms to inform our Scorecard.

We aim to provide the Australian public with an understanding of where the major parties stand on First Nations priority issues but also strongly encourage you to reach out to candidates in your local electorate using ANTAR’s letter template.

The Scorecard is now live and you can view it here on our website.

OTHER RESOURCES

  • The ABC’s Vote Compass Australia is a tool to help you explore how your views compare to parties and candidates predominantly spotlighting the policy positions of major and some minor parties contesting the 2025 Federal Election.
  • Build a ballot is a newly developed tool to match up your concerns with the candidates running in your local electorate and state – find out more here.

DONATE

  • Make a donation to support ANTAR’s advocacy for First Nations rights and justice in the lead up to this critical election. The outcome of the 2025 Federal Election and the 48th Parliament and next Government of Australia will be pivotal in our ongoing work to shift the dial further towards respecting self-determination and delivering substantive justice for First Nations peoples. If you’re in a position to support us with a donation it would be greatly appreciated and well utilised. If not, sharing our resources with your networks and helping us spread the word out is equally valuable.
